Location - If your event is within Calgary city limits, there will be no travel fee. For engagements outside Calgary city limits, a travel charge will apply. Travel fees are calculated at $.45 per kilometer per musician.
Size of Ensemble - Many people don't really know if they would like a duo, trio or quartet, or maybe just a soloist.
If your event will have over 100 guests or will be held in large room or outside area, we strongly recommend the full string quartet (4 musicians). The quartet will carry well and also offers the most variety in repertoire.
If your event will have between 50-100 guests, you can often book a trio (3 musicians). It is a little more intimate in sound, but offers most of the same repertoire choices as the quartet. If your event will have less than 50 guests, you can either book a duo, trio or soloist depending on the repertoire and your ensemble preference. There are some pieces that may not be appropriate for some ensembles. Please ask if you are uncertain and we will gladly assist in making your decision.

Bell’arte will discuss all details with you as the event approaches, making you an integral part of the process. Whether you prefer a string quartet, trio, duo or violin soloist, we will do our very best to accommodate your request.
All members of Bell’arte Strings are fully qualified professional musicians. All musicians are members of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and have either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in music performance.
From the classical masters such as Bach, Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven to light jazz, show tunes, and tangos, Bell’arte Strings will enhance any special occasion. Since we have a wide variety of repertoire available, or if you already know what music you would like, you will almost certainly find it on our repertoire list. If you are not sure, or are undecided, we will gladly discuss the choices with you and do our best to suit your needs.
